Power Compact or PC lighting technology offer several advantages to other standard lighting schemes. They produce a considerable more intense light output and tend to last much longer then standard fluorescent lighting systems. Power compacts are available in several different fixture styles and sizes. They also come as retro kits which include the bulbs, ballast, reflectors, and mounting hardware to install in different hood applications. We also have several different types of bulbs including both square and straight pin, ranging from 9 watts to 96 watts. Although manufacturer suggest replacing bulbs every 14-16 months, we suggest 10-12 for optimal light output. It is ideal to use power compacts in nano tank (small tank) applications because of both the physical size of the bulbs, and the lighting output you can achieve.
