Submersible water pumps are meant to be run completely under water in the aquarium and/or sump filter. Submersible pumps do not usually have a inlet tube used as intake, by sitting inside water they are in direct contact to the intake. These types of pumps are generally used to provide water to a protein skimmer or as a return from a sump to your aquarium. There are many different brands and sizes depending on the GPH (gallons per hour) required for your application.
